Boozhoo! Hello!

LDF Designated a Preserve America Community

On Friday, June 19th, Lac du Flambeau held a celebratory event in recognition of its Preserve America Community status.  This award distinguishes Lac du Flambeau as one of 736 communities nationwide to receive this distinction. With the addition of LDF, there are 17 Preserve America communities in Wisconsin and there is only one tribe in the state to receive this recognition. There are only three Native American tribes in the United States to receive this award.

Strawberry Fields Ripe for Picking

A fruitful and fun family outing, the Golden Eagle Farm officially opened its strawberry fields on Monday, June 29th. The berries are ripe for picking.  Located on Highway 70, just 10 miles from Minocqua, the farm is open from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., seven days a week.  The season generally runs through mid-July.
The Berry Hotline – 715-588-3485 – will give callers and update on current berry conditions and which field is open.
Owned and operated by the Lac du Flambeau Tribe, the farm’s main crop is strawberries.
